Police’s error
The North Port Police have admitted to making a huge mistake. Gabby Petito was reported missing on 11 September 2021. Days after, the police set up cameras around the Laundrie family home to keep an eye on them. Christopher and Roberta Laundrie, Brian’s parents, told the police that they last saw him on 14 September when he went off on a solo hike. They later changed their statement and said they believe Brian went missing on 13 September.
The police watching the Laundrie family home saw Brian leaving on 13 September in his Mustang but believed they saw him return on 15 September. The Mustang was driven back to the Laundrie family home on 15 September. The Laundrie family later reported Brian missing on 17 September after he did not return from hiking which came as a shock to the police.
