He Dismembered his Friend After Being Inspired by a Song
Police and family feared the worst when a torso was found in bushland following Jake Anderson-Brettner’s disappearance.
Things were looking up for 24-years-old Jake Daniel Anderson-Brettner from Tasmania, Australia. He recently got engaged the year prior and was looking forward to buying a house. On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, Brettner told his fiancé, Katlyn Roney, he was going to visit a friend Jack Sadler. They recently had a falling out and Brettner was going to Sadler’s to sort things out. He informed her that he would be back for dinner but that night, he failed to return home or pick up his phone.
Roney, worried for her fiancé, drove to Sadler’s house in search of Brettner in the early morning of Thursday, August 16. Sadler turned up not to be home and Roney decided to wait for Sadler to return. Sadler showed up 20 minutes later. Roney stated Sadler looked suspicious as he was wearing clothes he would not normally wear and seemed to be in a hurry. Roney confronted Sadler about Brettner’s whereabouts. Sadler responded that he had no idea and had been out looking for him as well.
Roney filed a missing person report to the Tasmanian police the next day, August 16, and named Sadler as a person of interest. Brettner…
