He Murdered His Neighbour For Tiktok Fame
Was it self-defence or did Zachary Latham murdered his neighbour for fame?
The discourse between Zachary Latham, 19-year-old National Guard private, and his neighbour, the Durham family, started 2 years earlier when Zachary moved into his grandparents’ house in New Jersey. Their first dispute being the Durham family — William Sr., his wife, Catherine, and their two sons — confronted Zachary for his reckless driving and his car being too loud. Zachary, who was 16 at the time, came to the Durhams’ home later to apologise.
The tensions between the two parties died down but resumed in April 2020. Zachary began filming their encounters and post them on Tiktok with one of the videos where Zachary called Catherine “Karen” received more than three million views. According to the Durham’s lawyers, Zachary came by the Durhams’ house a few days later and shouted “Hey Karen! We went viral.”
In another TikTok, the Durhams’ son, William, tried to open Zachary’s car door as he drove by, trying to take Zachary out of the car. Zachary described the incident as “Karen’s son found out the video went viral.”
