Early Life

Si Quey Ng born in China in 1921 (exact date unknown) and was of Teochew descent. During World War 2, Si Quey, in his teens at that time, was drafted to join the Chinese army to fight against the invading Japanese army.

As the Japanese army cut off the food supplies to Si Quey’s platoon, he reportedly ate the organs of his dead comrades out of desperation. However, there was no evidence to back up this claim. After the conclusion of World War 2, he was drafted again to join Mao Ze Dong’s Red Army. Not long after, he fled the Red Army to Thailand. After arriving in Thailand, he settled in Tab Sakae district in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, in the western part of Thailand. There, he worked odd jobs as a labourer for around 9 years before moving to other provinces as a wandering labourer. He later got a job working at a plantation in Rayong province, in southern Thailand. On 27 January 1958, Si Quey was arrested for the murder of a boy named Sumboon Bonyakarn.
