Millions of people online are defending this man who killed a mother and her daughter in a traffic crash.

Cameron Herrin, 18-year-old, from Tampa, Florida, was heading to a gym on the morning of 23 May 2018. Herrin was driving a Ford Mustang — that he received for his high school graduation two days earlier — while his friend, John Barrineau, was driving another vehicle, a gold Nissan. The two vehicles stopped side by side at a traffic light before suddenly speeding off, appearing to be racing on Bayshore Boulevard.

Jessica Reisinger-Raubenolt, who was pushing her one-year-old daughter Lilia in a stroller, was about to cross the street when the two vehicles approached. Barrineau swerved away unfortunately Herrin crashed into the Reisinger-Raubenolt and her baby, killing both of them. Herrin, who had a history of speeding, was driving at 100 mph (160 kph) just before the crash.

In April 2021, David Raubenolt, Reisinger-Raubenol’s widower, spoke for nearly an hour in court. In his testimony, he spoke of how kind-hearted his wife was. Reisinger-Raubenolt loved children and would pass out apology notes to aeroplane…
